Installtion Tips
- All PVC fences need to be installed to meet the Australian Building Code.
- Ensure you have consulted with your local council for any DA or Covenants for your suburb and site.
- Complete a Dial B4 you Dig request for the fenceline locations and know where all your underground assets are located.
- If installing posts into soil, holes need to be 600mm deep;
- 250mm auger is recommended for 102 x 102mm posts and a 300mm auger for 127 x 127mm posts.
- Hand-made cement is usually the easiest and cheapest to work with.
- If using pre-made bagged cement, take care not to use rapid set, as it may cause a chemical reaction with any aluminum inserts used.
- Trade Tip: Note the inside-to-inside measurement of your specific fence style and cut a timber dowel to this length to ensure posts are set at the maximum allowed span.

- The Premium Range can be raked up to 120mm per panel for slopes, whereas the Eco Line does not allow for raking and must be stepped.
- Over-order the quantity of panels for each fence span to accommodate underground obstacles that may absorb materials.
- For gateways, set adjustable hinges to the middle of the thread to allow maximum adjustment, and add the hinge and latch gaps to the actual gate width to determine the gate opening size.
- Marking post locations: Set a stringline 50mm from the ground height (industry standard) along the outside face of the post on the boundary side.
- Establish absolute post locations first (e.g., off walls, gate posts, corners, or ends).
- Use a spacer stick or panel rail to determine hole placements, and plan to reduce or cut down panels away from primary focal points if needed.
- Dedicate time to layout and design, as pre-routed products require spans to be carefully considered prior to installation.
- Install posts first and allow the cement to cure for a day before fitting the panels to minimize subsidence.
- Use a second stringline to monitor the finished height of all posts during installation, adjusting any affected posts quickly.
- When cutting PVC, treat it like timber; use an aluminum blade or appropriate cutting instruments if cutting both PVC and aluminum.
- Ensure the minimum required intrusion of rails into the posts so the fence stays together, and consider using Type 17 timber screws.
